03 Apr Female facial hair? Permanent solutions – Electrolysis
ELECTROLYSIS FOR HAIR REMOVAL
What?
A common method of removing unwanted hair permanently.
How?
Low electric current is passed through a thin sterile metal probe directly into hair follicle to destroy the cells that produce hair growth.
Why?
Hair removal methods such as plucking, waxing, threading shaving may take out hair temporarily but also increase blood flow to the area and eventually cause a regrowth of hair. A few of these methods will often also leave undesirable scarring and pigmentation on the skin.
Where?
Because it is a slightly more time consuming process, it it best used on smaller areas such as the face, armpits, bikini line, chest.
What to expect?
Most clients will describe the feeling like a rubber band hitting the skin. Settings may be adjusted to ensure comfort throughout the process.
How long?
The process may require repeat treatment sessions (on average 2-6) to completely destroy hair follicles. The number of sessions required will depend on density, amount of hair and area being treated.
Post treatment?
Skin may temporarily be tender after treatment. This settles within a few hours.
